Perspective is one heck of a thing. It's amazing how different people and contexts can change a concept that was once set in stone to something completely different, but it happens all the time! We are more flexible than we give ourselves credit for, even if half the time it's the product of our own stupidity. What seems like common sense today could be completely obsolete in a matter of years.

This is the basis for a revealing and occasionally infuriating Reddit thread, in which people detailed all the different things that were repeatedly seen as so wrong that they somehow turned around and became right (or at least acceptable). There are quite a lot of examples of bad grammar here, as well as a few less wordy 180° decisions. We can never underestimate the capacity for change, especially when it's easier or more convenient for the majority who are involved.
